Welcome to Neverfade!

You are a Candle. Your mission is to overcome obstacles, but be careful - every mistake costs you your flame. You have a wick that you can use to ignite nearby objects. The journey begins deep beneath the concrete of the Wickery, but something feels off. It’s deserted... Why am I the only source of light? Is anyone else still alive? I have to find out. There is much more to come! This is currently a demo version, so please share your thoughts and impressions in the comments below!

Who is the Candle?

The Candle is a unique species - or rather, a tiny spark that might be the last of its kind. Or is it? Who knows... who knows... The Candle will overcome every obstacle! Even though they may seem fragile and small, their soul is the brightest and strongest flame of all!

What awaits you?

• Cinematic Cutscenes & Flashbacks: Uncover the story piece by piece.
• The All-Consuming Darkness: A void that swallows everything in its path.
• The Mystery of the Dark: The darkness is not just a phenomenon... it is the cause.
• Unique Controls: Navigate your character entirely with your mouse!
• A New Perspective: Experience the world as a tiny being in a very big place.

The Obstacles

• Walls: Every wall can be deadly, creating treacherous narrow passages.
• Saws: Dangerous and unpredictable, moving vertically and horizontally. Nobody wants to end up under those teeth!
• Presses: Watch out, or you’ll be turned into a fiery pancake!
• Dust: These are objects you can burn. They block your path, but that’s exactly what your wick and flame are for!

Controls

• Mouse Movement: Move the Candle (The flame follows your cursor).
• F: Use your Flame (Ignite wicks and burn through dust).
• Tap: Interact with the Interface.
• Esc: Pause the game.
• Q: Return to Main Menu (While in Pause mode).

Future Plans

If the game gains traction, I will continue to expand this world! You can help me make it happen. 

Here is what's on the horizon:

• Bosses: I’m currently designing epic battles, all tied to the mystery of the darkness.
• Enemies: I plan to add bats that attack you because you’re too bright! You might need to dim your flame...
• NPCs: Meet the Merchant - an old toad. In his final moments, he seeks to be useful by trading with you before his last breath.
• New Locations: Multiple new areas with unique bosses and enemy types are in the works!
